Who we are

Maja Dubińska

Software Engineer

Maja is a Software Engineer at Helsing. Before Helsing approached her she had been preparing for months for an interview with a FAANG company, thinking that working there would be her dream career. She received an offer. Shortly before accepting it, Helsing approached her. When she heard about Helsing’s mission, met our people, and saw what she would be working on, she changed her mind. Maja likes things to be neat and tidy so she is a particular fan of our CTO`s code reviews. Before Helsing, Maja studied Informatics at the Technical University of Munich, worked as a data engineer at a mobile games company and as a full-stack engineer at a large insurance e-company. Maja is an excellent cook, a true team player and skilled at martial arts.

Jean-Marc Wanka

Senior AI Research Engineer

Jean is an AI Research Engineer. With his team, he brings ideas from concept phase through the development process to the embedded platforms. He holds a degrees in Physics from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University and a Masters in Mathematics in Data Science from the Technical University of Munich. Throughout his studies he explored the field of AI and specialised in deep learning and computer vision problems. During this time he also collaborated with the Helmholtz-Zentrum München and was part of a team that published about deep learning advances in computational biology in the renowned magazine "Nature Communications". He is equally passionate about gaming and sports and spends his weekends split between gaming with his friends and exploring the Bavarian mountains and lakes.

Tommaso Perusini

Tommaso Perusini

Lead Software Engineer

Tommaso is leading the design and development of modern full stack applications aiming at the convergence of AI, situational awareness, and geospatial intelligence. Together with the product and the engineering team, he is shaping a new paradigm in the future of digital security and defence. Tommaso developed his experience in the Space, Aerospace and Defence sectors. Before joining Helsing, he was a Software Engineer at Thales, Rheinmetall and Leonardo. His academic background is distributed between Italy (University of Rome) and Germany (University of Freiburg). He studied Applied Mathematics and Computer Science during his BSc and specialized in AI and Robotics during his MSc, with a focus on Autonomous Intelligent Systems. Tommaso is a spirited musician, a climber, a snowboarder and a lover of the great outdoors.
